Product CategorySNF5 is involved in transcriptional activation. The SWI/SNF complex is required for the induced expression of a large number of genes. This complex alters chromatin structure to facilitate binding of gene-specific dedicated transcription factors. SNF5 also funtions as a tumor suppressor gene and is frequently mutated in malignant rhabdoid tumors. It is also involved in adipocyte differentiation.
Adiponectin: A protein hormone produced and secreted exclusively by adipocytes (fat cells) that regulates the metabolism of lipids and glucose. Adiponectin influences the body's response to insulin. Adiponectin also has antiinflammatory effects on the cells lining the walls of blood vessels. High blood levels of adiponectin are associated with a reduced risk of heart attack. Low levels of adiponectin are found in people who are obese (and who are at increased risk of a heart attack). Adipocy
This gene encodes a member of the EGF-TM7 subfamily of adhesion G protein-coupled receptors, which mediate cell-cell interactions. These proteins are cleaved by self-catalytic proteolysis into a large extracellular subunit and seven-span transmembrane subunit, which associate at the cell surface as a receptor complex. The encoded protein may play a role in cell adhesion as well as leukocyte recruitment, activation and migration, and contains multiple extracellular EGF-like repeats which medi
PHD1 catalyzes the posttranslational formation of 4-hydroxyproline in hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) alpha proteins and hydroxylates HIF-1 alpha at Pro-402 and Pro-564, and HIF-2 alpha. It functions as a cellular oxygen sensor and, under normoxic conditions, targets HIF through the hydroxylation for proteasomal degradation via the von Hippel-Lindau ubiquitylation complex. It may play a role in cell growth regulation.
Histone methyltransferase that specifically monomethylates 'Lys-4' of histone H3. H3 'Lys-4' methylation represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional activation. Plays a central role in the transcriptional activation of genes such as collagenase or insulin. Recruited by IPF1/PDX-1 to the insulin promoter, leading to activate transcription. Has also methyltransferase activity toward non-histone proteins such as p53/TP53, TAF10, and possibly TAF7 by recognizing and binding the [
